Want to add a fuse box and more questions

    Hi,
My bike has only 1 fuse on the + line.
I wish to replace it with a modern blade fuse box (4 fuses)
other then that + line, what other circuit should be fuse protected?

My 2nd question is, i noticed a "loop" thru the left handlebar switch mentioned but didn't understand exactly what it is and what to do about it.

    Thanks
    Eran

2nd question: That is the infamous headlight loop. It can be removed from the circuit by wiring all 3 wires from the stator directly to the Regulator/Rectifier.

On bikes that have multiple fuses, there is a MAIN fuse (similar to yours) that is between the battery and the R/R. Power from the MAIN fuse (and the R/R) then goes to the ignition switch and back to the fuse box to power the LIGHTS, SIGNALS and IGNITION fuses. Sometimes there is also an AUX. fuse for accessories.

On your bike, the orange wire that leaves the ignition switch branches out to feed all the other circuits directly. I suppose that if you feel the need to add another fuse panel (not sure why ), you could interrupt the orange wire before it branches and re-route it to your new fuse panel. You would then have to find where it branches again (and again) to interrupt it there to have your various circuits fed by their own fuse.

Personally, unless you are building a completely new harness for the entire bike, I would leave well enough alone and just carry a spare fuse or three.
