    Intermittent Fuel Gauge

    Hey All,

So...my fuel gauge is giving me issues. It totally quit working a few months ago, and now it sometimes starts to work while I'm riding and then shuts back off. I'm guessing something is loose....can you give me an idea where to look to check the connections?

    Thanks,
    -Matt

The obvious connections are under the gas tank. Two bullet types. However I suspect that those are OK and it is the PC board ( part of the sending unit inside of the tank) that the tank rheostat is manufactured on. It tends to warp and give the gauge fits (like mine)

POS......I had them quit all together and found the warped boards too. So I just bent the slider arm thing over so it had positive contact full range of its travel.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
