need advice on no start
Ok so i have a 1978 gs750 and i always had trouble on cold starts i would sometimes have to catch it in gear but after she was warmed up she was good....ive done some work to her like carbs cleaning and rebuild i replaced the point system with a dyna2000 i beleive and put new green coils in with new plug wires and now it seems like it wants to start but wont and it was blowing the 10amp fuse located by the starter relay.....im going to start by checking the valve clearance but i still havint found a good write up on how to do that what what kinda clearance i need so if anyone knows of good write up that would be grand...other things i wanna check is spark and ignition timing if anyone has any advice at all i would appreciate it thanks... -

If the fuse problem has shown up since you installed the Dyna Coils you probably have not created enough clearance between the primary wire terminal on the coil and the frame. I mounted mine by jacking them up off the frame with 1/4" threaded rod cut to length. Nut either side of frame tube, then a bunch of running threads, then nut either side of the coil to end up with a comfortable amount of clearance for the terminal. The stock hardware didn't cut it
