This does not apply to our bikes but I wonder if anyone can tell me more about the new electronic keys and fobs that communicate with the ECUs on modern bikes?
I am trying to find out when such devices came into general use and possibly if anyone can confirm they were used on 1999 Kawasakis, specifically ZX600s.
From all that I can find out they were only introduced around 2004/2005 and then only on high end models.
I am trying to get a replacement key made for a friend's daughter's bike and I'm running in to contradictory information from both dealers and lock smiths indicating that they may have been available as an option on some models.
Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated.
