How do I know if my GS has the redundant stator loop

I've read somewhere that newer bikes don't have this, I'm not the greatest at reading wiring schematics . I have a 1983 gs550es . I'm ordering a stator today . Should I just wire it direct to the R/R anyways or can I plug it back in the stock wiring?

Look in your wiring diagram. I'm too lazy to download the manual and look for you. This ain't rocket science. Unless the stator wires don't feed directly into the R/R, you got a problem.
