Bad Ground Connection, Loud Pop! Help!
So as I was on my way to head off to work, I realized my wire to the negative terminal of my bike actually was off and realized the metal ring that the screw goes through bent and ripped off. Me being, an electric retard, tried and stripped it and tied it around the screw, turned on everything was cool, rode for 10 minutes it died, don't know why, tried to kick it again and BOOM! Loud pop with a little smoke from the exhaust, and didn't try to start it had to walk it and cabbed it. Any idea what this could be? or cause of this pop?Tags: None

Well, at least we know it's a bike he's asking about.
If it happens to be a GS, it's a '79 or older.

Hi,
Fix the connections properly. Then check the charging system. Make your way to the electrical section of my little website.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
