    GS750 stator in a gs 400

Since there are a whole bunch of u "suzukipedias" with a whole lot of knowledge in our beloved old zook`s i might get the answer to the thread title in here
The bike i can get the stator from is an 83 gs 750.
And could this be fitted to a generator cover of my 78 gs 400??
Heard that this might be a desent modification!
    Thanx in advance!!
    Cheers Jorgen

The stator on 83 gs750 is likely a 18 pole one while your 78 gs400 is a 12 pole unit. These would have different rotors - you need the correct/matching rotor or your output would be poor.

I have a early 550 stator out, I could measure the bolt spacing, diameter and such if it would help you out. They may be the same as the early 750.

Have you looked on th reverse parts look up? The may use the same one on all the early 12 pole bikes.
