This is where it stands now - electrical unhooked; 4 "panel mounting nuts" should free it from the bike.

Taking a break now. Gonna eat, get drunk, and try to locate enough band aids to patch up my bloody fingers.

Still upside down pics, one thing at a time.

    Thanks.

Regarding the gear indicator light. Mine died, and I found it was a tiny bulb similar to an old maglite bulb-a tiny bulb with 2 wires that was soldered to a board. I picked up a similar 12 volt bulb at radio shack, unsoldered the bad one and soldered the new one on. Tedious, but It worked.

I can't see how to access that light - just the two tach lights, one of which had to be destroyed as the 32 year old rubber was practically welded in place. Now an old bulb is loose inside the back of the tach.

And I can't see why the speedo light(s) are in completely different holders - white plastic, not black rubber. I'm pretty ****ed that I even opened it up - if I tow or somehow ride it to the shop, they have no responsibility. I'm the one who messed it up. Could be the better part of $1000 now.

I've got an old, broken 140mph speedo that I would give you for the price of postage...

              Calmer now

Much calmer now, things will work out. A little later I'll reassemble everything, and see how it works.

One tach light out of two is better than none.

And I'm getting too old to be riding at night anyway...I just can't help myself!

                  Thanks

Here's my current love. Her name's Suzi.

You may think she's upside down, but that's the way I ride her. I'm going to put mirrors on the ceiling of her room (the garage).

I just bought her edible air filters, but don't tell her. I'm planning a special night, just me and her, the way it used to be.

                    Ps

PS Those 'speedos' you guys mentioned, are they the entire '82 (or '83) instrument panel, or just speedometers? If entire panel, I'll buy them both.

While we're talking, does anybody know what this piece of plastic with cooling fins on it is called, or what function it serves? It seems to hide front brake/anti-dive line junction.

                        Wheelies

This photo deal looks to be like wheelies for me. I can't pop them when I want to, only when I wasn't trying. (None so far on Suzi. Probably better that way.)

                            Sold!

I already see some of those 'molded rubber bulb holders' I'm after in your photo. Tell me the amount, and where to send the check, and I'll sit by the mailbox waiting for the package.

The rubber bulb holders seem to be a set of 5. Unless you wanted to cut individual holders out of the set.
