    Signal Generator: brushes or not?

    Hi to all
    1. Does the signal generator (located on the right hand side [inside round cover casing]) have brushes?
I opened the round engine cover and discovered LOOSE strands of wire (supposedly, strands of the brushes) on the signal generator.
    2. If it has brushes: is it carbon brushes & how do I install new ones?

    Thank you

    There are no brushes.

Size and material of the strands?

      Gold or copper in colour.
Length: between 1-1.5 cm (half - three quarters of an inch).
Thickness was like a strand of hair, or maybe two strands of hair.

Wire remnants (hopefully)?- the signal coils work by magnetism- a little metal tab spins by coils and causes an interuption that ignitor senses to fire plugs at right times.

My guess would be perhaps someone did some cleaning with a soft brass brush...
