Better plugs?
I have an 85 gs700es that takes ngk d8ea plugs. I HATE these plugs. HATE. Is there any other plug that I can use in place. The empty minds at auto zone look at me like I have two heads when I ask. Can someone please help with this issue?Tags: None

Some bikes take the D8EAs, others take B8ES, but this is the FIRST time I have heard of anyone saying they didn't like them.
What's wrong with them?

Moving one heat range one way or the other depends a lot on your circumstances. Racing (assuming that's what "stetracer" does) can require a cooler plug. Not sure why "knotscott" would need one, but it's not that unusual.
However, the original poster, "tigerfan474", only said that he "hates these plugs", without saying what he hates about them. Maybe it's because they don't come in chartreuse?

I'll bet that, for the same reasons he hates his NGK plugs, he'll hate any plug he puts in right now. My guess is he has other complications that are skewing his impression of NGK plugs.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg
1980 GS1000GT (Daily rider with a 1983 1100G engine)

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

Maybe he's upset his 5/8" and 13/16" spark plug sockets that come with his socket set don't work

It's all pure speculation until he reports back.
