Horn Help Please!

The green wire on the bike (which will be HOT when the key is ON) will connect to pin 85 on the relay.
The black wire will connect to pin 86 on the relay.
You can test relay operation at this point by pressing the horn button and hearing the relay click.
A fused wire from the battery will connect to pin 30 on the relay.
Connect the wire on the new horn to pin 87 on the relay.
Make sure the horn has a good ground, whether it is a separate wire or just well-clamped to the frame.

Soooo...... speaking of horns..... I was workin' on betty today trying to chase down the lack of horn on her. I removed the horn to try and see if I could get a sound from it and the battery alone. Here is where the shtf, as I was putting the battery back in the bike (with the negative attached and grounded) one of the positive wires contacted something else and caused a bright flash and large puff of white smoke! The burnt out wire is/was connected to a part labeled a tri igniter. My questions are these: What part did I just fry ( I am thinking the starter?)? How up the creek am I without a a paddle, and how deep is said creek?

I think you should be more concerned with what's in the creek.
I can't see what's burnt in that picture, hopefully it's not your ignitor. The ignitor is the box of transistors that replaces mechanical points in the ignition. Don't know how available they are for your bike, but they are not cheap, so I hope you shorted a wire out somewhere NEAR the ignitor, not the one TO the ignitor.
And why are you installing the battery with wires attached? Install the battery, THEN attach the wires.

Here is another picture of the wire that got cooked. I have not good answer as to why I connected the negative before installing, I know better. The wire is thin and black and goes into a harness, it is not actually a wire going into the tri igniter but is bolted above it. I am hoping the creek is filled with cheap fixes and not 500 bucks in parts lol.

I have fried an igniter, it cooked pretty easily... Got a replacement from Ebay for relatively cheap. I hope yours survived though!

I can hit the start button and get a loud click, but nothing turns over. The indicator lights came on when I turned the key.

Upon further, closer, and non freaked out inspection, I have determined the wire is actually black and white and is grounded to the frame on both sides of the bike. I am not sure what all is effected by this but it does not seem to be the igniter/cdi! I do have a line on a parts bike, so if I can land that bike I will be golden.

Location of wire in diagram.
wirefire.jpg I believe this to be the wire, if I am looking at the proper diagram for me bike. Circled in blue, green x is the burnt section. Found the other side of wire had worn out insulation.

That X is on a ground wire. Something must have shorted to it.
