I am glad I have another bike to ride and a battery charger as well because I may not pull the trigger on this yet.

Thanks Cassius. I have been googling to locate the sh775 at the best price. I even ran across a place that was selling the connectors but they were $18...so it is getting up around a hundred dollars ..eek

The Polaris Dealer wants $81, and that seems to be the going rate for these new and improved RR's. I did notice that the Polaris Item number is also printed on the sh775 unit (part# 4012941) . Yamaha uses an RR with that number also... but don't know how to tell whether it is a fluke or possibly the same unit.

I guess they may make this "version" for Yamaha since it doesn't mention sh775 and looks to be a different color.82 gs1100e FAUX Skunk

Thank you Tom, I thought that may be the case but wasn't 100% confident enough to order it.

I hope that was a transcribing error when you said the part# is 4014291 is the SH-775 unit.
since this unit for sale is #4012941..82 gs1100e FAUX Skunk

Creative mounting is key. I mounted a grapefruit sized R/R on the back of the 1150 battery box - it wouldn't fit underneath as the suspension is in the way. If you plan on riding in the rain, best practice dictates the connectors are on the bottom as to prevent them becoming o-ring "sealed"(haha) buckets for collecting water and debris.
