    You may be getting fooled by an autoranging meter
    Can you be sure it is set to a specific scale e.g. K Ohms?

    My not very expensive meter likes to drift betweeen extremes when set to auto ranging.

      Okay, so you 3 or 4 ohm coils if you're looking to replace yours.

      Coils can go bad, but it's somewhat rare. I'd focus on the wires and caps first. Very high resistance like that can also indicate broken wires or corroded spark plug cap innards. If you want, you can unscrew the terminal inside the cap and out will drop a spring, a resistor, and the terminal. Clean 'em up, reassemble, and test again.
