Kohler/ John Deere regulator/rectifier (wiring questions.)

I was doing some searching around the internet for a regulator rectifier upgrade for my 1983 Suzuki gr 650.

I came across this thread for a Kohler/ John Deere regulator rectifier it was very cheap and well manufactured. The thread is interesting.

    http://www.hondatwins.net/forums/50-...r-upgrade.html

I figure if the suzuki twins are upgrading to the Honda regulators why not use what the Hondas are upgrading to.

Any chance this would work or is this for a smaller electrical system?

I have a 5 wire reg/rec and gs500 stator but my new battery won't hold a charge. This has three wires and grounds through the frame. Im not sure how I would wire it.

    Edit: part #: 25-755-03
I searched and didn't find anything about this.

This is a separate rectifier/ regulator solution.

read GS Stator in my signature, and if you can't find a cheap enough SH-775 then find one of the 6 wire Honda as described by Duanage. Might be able to get that for $40 or cheaper.

As best I know. The 6 wire with sense is best if you are trying to only spend $20 else find a sh-775.

Sh775 it is, thanks. Is there a wiring tutorial I'm not finding?

Aside from anything else, that Kohler reg is a two-phase one.

He could always put a Kohler motor and mower deck on it, then it would work.

                        Not at all.

Some of them are variable-field regulators, they are used on the models with alternators, rather than stators.
