    GS425 conversion to electrical ignition???

While browsing BassCliff's website, I noticed that he converted his ignition to electrical by using a Dyna S kit.

Can the same conversion be done to my 2-cylinder GS425? I hate d*cking-around with points. Would love to be able to upgrade to Dyna S.

Thank you! I am a total n00b when it comes to turning wrenches on a bike. Experienced with cars, like my '65 442. But it is time to dig-in on this bike and turn it into what I want it to be. So there is much to learn.

So please excuse some of my dumb questions. I'll catch-up quickly.

        65 442! You need a bigger bike!

I like my little bike. It isn't great for long distances. But it's excellent for getting around town.

          Videos of the car:
This is the engine without the front motor plate fastened to the frame rails. Jiggly.

This is the new engine WITH a front motor plate fastened to the chassis. Big difference. Don't mind the mess of wires. They'll be cleaned-up soon.

My friend, Adam Pence, was in Indy for the holidays. The weather was decent...so we took the 442 for a spin on Dec 23rd. Hadn't yet tested the line lock.…

          So...back to Dyna S on the GS425...

On Dynatec's website, it only lists a kit for '76-78 GS400's. What is the part number for the Dyna S kit that will work with my bike?

Nice pics- brings back fond memories of my '69 Z28. Of course, I never smoked my tires!

Head back to that linked thread- the 425 apparently uses same as 450. PM member Pete for exact number if nobody responds .Ask to see his custom exhaust on his 450- a thing of beauty !

                  Pete? You mean Greg?

And it looks like he was installing it on a 450, not 425

Pete ,from the land down under -recall this from that thread of Greg's
"....Hey Greg, after dremelling some clearance on my Dyna S plate it turns out it would've been fine... it was more precautionary than anything.

You won't need the spacer on the 425 as it had points, it's the electronic ignition rotor bolts on the 450's that are longer and require the spacer."
