Flasher relay location on my 82 gs650gl
My Turn signals do not flash they just stay lit. I assume a new flasher will solve this problem. On my 80 gs550l the flasher is located next to my battery. On my 82 gs650gl i can not seem to find where it is... or where it would go. My next guess is inside the headlamp housing? Any help is greatly appreciated. thx -
It is still near the battery on your 650, but it might be on the front side (toward the air box) or the rear side (toward the rear fender).
Is this something new that just happened? How long has it been like this?
Before you replace your flasher, look at your bulbs. Were they just replaced? Are they the correct bulbs? Are they LEDs?

hey! thanks for the quick response. I just acquired this bike. The previous owner claims it has sat outside for some time. All the lights work but they just do not flash. they stay on until you turn the switch back off. Do you know where i can find a nice wiring diagram i can download/print? thanks!

Having one bulb out will sometimes cause the scenario you describe. Having poor current/big voltage losses to your flashers is another. If the relay is in the same place as on the 650G, it should be on a post on the bottom of the battery box, and toward the front, if I recall correctly.
There is a service manual with wiring diagram here, but unfortunately it is not in colour:
Now go over to the GS Owners subforum, introduce yourself, and post some pictures of your new ride.'83 GS650G

I found the flasher hanging underneath the air box(still not sure where it should be). i took the one from my 550L and plugged it in and the turn signals work. So i think i solved the problem. Thanks for all the help. Ill post some pictures shortly!

Does your flasher still have its rubber collar? Should be a collar that holds the flasher and has a slot on one side that will slide over the tab on the battery box.
