1987 gs450 ignition box wiring help
My wiring diagram is pretty much crap and I am trying to get a break down of the wires going to the ignition box. Does anyone know what colors go to wear?Tags: None

That wiring diagram is different then mine - colors are off and my ignitor unit has 7 wires that has a 6. I was able to trace where each one went.. Now the only thing I am confused about is my signal generator... It has 4 wires coming out
G/Y-> UNKOWN BY ME - IT RUNS UP TO THE IGNITION AREA, BUT I AM NOT SURE WHAT THIS CONNECTION DOES
G/W -> IGNITOR (STAYS GW)
BLACK/W -> IGNITOR (BLACK BLUE)
BROWN -> IGNITOR (STAYS BROWN)
If anyone knows what the g/y goes to please let me know :-)

Suzuki did a pretty good job of keeping the color code consistent across all the models. On the 850, green/yellow (green wire with a yellow stripe) is, in fact, the wire to the oil pressure sending unit, so I would guess that is true for the 450, also.
No idea why that would be running to the ignitor, unless it is a safety shut-off in case of low oil pressure.

Wasnt running from ignitor - it was coming from the same connector as the generator.. And a little tip for anyone if you have a downloaded service manual you can rotate the screen and it makes it readable haha

Also helps if you are using a real computer, not a "smart" phone.

Green with yellow tracer on a 450 coming from under the timing cover is definitely the oil pressure sensor... the sensor is under the signal generator plate.1982 GS450E - The Wee Beastie

Im looking at the diagram and I am a little confused about which wire on the ignitor feeds it the power.. I beleive its the orange/white, but I cant see where there line links into the power from the battery on the diagram

Yes, it is the orange/white wire. The other end of that wire is at the "kill" switch.
