Simplified wireing for a 83 gs550.

I recently done some trading and came up with a 83 gs550 bobber. The guy I got it from said it ran when he got it but quit shortly after he got it. I started traveling wires on it and everything appears to be connected correctly however I can't seem to get it to spark either. When they cut and stripped the frame the hacked up a lot of the wiring as well. My question is,, is there a simple way to run the wires to get a headlight/tail light and fire to the coils.

There's all sorts of simple ways to power things. Go here, click thru to wiring diagrams for gs650 they should be real similar to the gs550

Understand that the 550 ignitors seem failure prone, so you just might have no spark no matter what you bypass.

Thank you so much. That link helped me a lot, I was able to trace down the connection and got her to run this evening.
