A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How bad does this look? Can you tell me what parts I need to buy?

Does "ignition pickup inspection cover" mean the engine case?

"Attachment" didn't work and the photo it pretty low res and harshly lit but at the minimum it looks like you'll need new pickups and to get those broken screws out. Left handed drill bits for the ones that are flush are your friends. You can use a pair of vise grips to get that bent screw out...

Is the bottom right bent or just the angle of the shot?

This any better?

Of course the big question is are the forks or frame bent. That would be a real game changer. I'm going on the assumption they're not, if there are some low-ticket items I can pick up now to deliver to my mechanic along with the bike in a month or so.

Take it to your mechanic for an assessment. It's going to need (at minimum): signal generator plate assembly, rotor w/screw, and cover. And maybe an advance unit.

As mentioned before I have all the parts you need.
You need a signal generator and probably a mechanical advance and hardware.

nice and big

Bent the lip on the casing and removed a bit of it by the look of that. Not unknown for the end of the crank to get a bend, too.

From what I can see it looks like you'll need items #4, 7 and 8 as a minimum. You may need item 5 as well but it depends on how much damage it received.

You also need the signal generator cover, gasket and the three screws that hold it on. What concerns me the most is the missing center bolt. Hopefully it's not broken inside the crank. If so you'll need to remove the whole assembly and see if you can left and drill it out.

My bet is that it's all sitting on someone's shelf and ready for you to get it shipped.

Can anyone even tell me what it's properly called (right side, round, says, "SUZUKI TSCC") so I can search for it? I keep coming up with clutch covers.

rob get it all from cheff bill......
if he ain't got it i got it X 10.......
when people know these engines like we do there is no need for a microfiche to look at.

Will do. That's a good enough endorsement for me. Plus I've done business with Bill before.

The signal generator assembly and the advance assembly - if they work, that's good enough, right? There's no need to spring for brand new parts, is there?

Same thing apply for the other parts behind the point cover?

rob,
good used is just that.......good used.
if Bill don't have it....i do right down to the screws and timing plate..ignition cover and bolts and sooooo on.

added:
i would replace everything from the crank seal outwards.
all..

Get all you need from Bill if he has it. Many on here have the parts you need as well. Just post in the help want section and I'm sure you'll get everything you're needing.

For what it's worth, posting a microfiche image does help to make mortal humans communicate with each other.

The old cut and run

No running... Just letting him know that sometimes pictures can say a 1000 words. You usually have the collection of parts. Just figured you had what was needed. Just in case there's always the help wanted forum. You're the man Bill.

i have only parted out 30 of these bikes/engines and probably more.
in 10 minutes i could have everything from the seal outwards in a box...memory only... no fiche or manual.
just the facts mam!
