    Lagging tach on '84 1150.

I have searched this topic and cannot find any answers so here goes. Has anyone experienced this problem on their 1150? In the manual I have seen that the wire for the tach is black and yellow but I'm curious how it gets its info. I have yet to track down where it is grounded to try and clean that up but that is the extent of my electrical prowess. Many thanks in advance.

Interesting...ive noticed in recent years mine occasionally will jump up and down during a steady cruise. I thought (hoped)
It was just caused by the wind as it mainly happens at highway speed, but im not sure if thats likely.
