Single Point Gnd Question
I will be installing my honda RR soon, Pertaining to the SPG scheme reccomended, I currently have two black/white wires connected to the battery box and go directly back into the wire loom. I guess this is the frame gnd and harness return. Do I move one of these to my SPG and leave the other? Also currently the larger black lead from engine case goes to battery neg....this ok? Just need some clarification......thanks allTags: None

The engine ground typically goes to the frame. Make sure you have clean terminals and frame/engine ground points. No paint/rust etc.
Jim will likely get mad at me but I wouldn't go out of my way to single point ground. Just make sure everything is properly grounded, either to a solid frame point or the battery, and move forward. In the automotive world redundant grounding is the rule. Every so often through the harness they drop a ring loop out of the harness and to the chassis. If one ground gets corroded there is a backup somewhere.Last edited by Nessism; 03-04-2015, 12:24 PM.Ed

From looks of length of wire cable from engine to neg on battery, maybe at one time it was bolted to battery box. But why move it from neg battery back to frame?
Is not the engine grounded to frame all ready by all the engine mount bolts. Most frame bolt places are painted, so grounding connection is made thru actual bolt threads, yes.

A 10 gauge stranded wire from the battery negative to a mounting bolt on the new R/R would be a good start.http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...ine=1440711157'78 GS1000E, Dyna-S ignition, Dyna Green Coils, K&N pods, Delkevic SS 4-1 exhaust, Dynojet Stage 3 jet kit, Russell SS Brake Lines, Progressive suspension, Compu-Fire series Regulator 55402 and Advmonster cree LED headlight conversion.
