    Resistance reading questions

Reposting some questions never heard back on. 1981 GS850G.

    1. On stock plug caps my meter showed zero reading for continuity from one side of the plug cap to the other (caps removed from leads.

    2. On the suppression lead set from DynaCoil I got from Z1 Ent, the same reading. Even on a short length of the lead, the core showed no continuity. (Stock metal core old leads show full continuity, no resistance at all.)

Are these non-readings what I should expect? Something to do with resistance????

    Thanks,

    DH

What setting do you have your meter on? The caps should read 5K ohms.

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

Well I used all 5 ohm settings on the multimeter this time. From 200 ohm to 20M ohm. NO Continuity (meter reads 1. as it does when just turned on without crossing the leads to test. When I test on a solid item or cross leads I get 0.00. Tried reversing the leads as to how I was taking reading. No change.

I'm not using these caps as I have replaced the leads & caps with the Dyna Coil set but hate not to understand what is up.

      Thank you,
