firing on 2
I have a 83 gs750e,lost spark on 2-3 cyl. changed out coil, same thing.Took lead wires from 1-4 and tried coils and they work fine.Is the only thing left the igniter or have I missed something/thksTags: None

yes, found that the voltage going to the 1-4 coil is at 4.3 and 2-3 coil is at 11.2/which is confusing me cause the 1-4 plugs are firing and 2-3 ones aren't

another question, while I was sitting by the bike totally confused with the igniter unhooked I turned the key to on the volt meter was on 2-3 coil wires,it showed 11.9 so I tried 1-4 wires it read 0.does this mean anything ?

With ignitor unplugged, and key "on" ,you should see about the same voltage reading on the orange/white coil to each coil- one meter probe on orange/white wire at coil and other probe on good ground' like battery negative.
When ignitor is plugged in, you get a low/odd reading on one coil cuz the ignitor is allowing current to flow thru that coil to ground via the ignitor internal ground.
have you measured the primary resistance of each coil ? Unplug them and look for about 4 ohms resistance.
on coil that isn't firing, also check secondary resistance. Remove spark plug caps from that coil, stick meter probes into plug wires and look for about 12000 ohms plug wire to plug wire.1981 gs650L

might have found my problem/but could this have damaged the igniter and or voltage regulator alsoAttached Files
