Sorry, I had not seen your picture before. Except for the black tape over the fusebox, the swap looks very clean.
The common hole spacing is very nice and it appears as if the fuse box is not nearly as crowded as if the SH-775 was mounted next to it. That is a 5 position fuse box hiding under the tape correct?
My main interest is because I'm asked often about what R/R to install and especially when it if somebody buying an SSPB and trying to figure out how to mount the SSPB with a new SH-775. So thank you I can steer those people here to give them another idea on mounting options. A few questions come to mind:
Did you have to extend the Ignitor service loop to fit it to the opposite side of the bike?
Did you use the behemoth connector for the SH-775(can't quite see)? Generally if I mounted an SH-775 I would probably want the connector faced down to avoid water collection in the shroud. If you have the connector then there would be much less concern about water collection. I'm guessing orienting the SH-775 connector up allowed you to run shorter connections that the other way around?
Not that it matters much when installing an SSPB, but how did you connect the SH-775? Direct to the battery or to the "T"?
You also have something protruding from below the fusebox (possibly an inline fuse holder); what is that?

Just to follow up on my installation. I decided to follow 1980GS1000E's suggestion of swapping the igniter and R/R locations.
However, my original mounting holes DID NOT match up. I have a different bike than him, an '82 GS750. So what I ended up doing was using one of the mounting holes and drilling an appropriate second mounting hole on the original R/R location for the igniter. I did have to mount the igniter at an angle though since my mounting plate has a bend in it and it wouldn't sit level on the plate. There was plenty of room to do that. But on the igniter side, I was able to use both original mounting holes by cutting the left hand section of the SH775, like others have done, to open it up some and it then worked out. I also have my SH775 pointing upwards like he did. And I also drilled a small hole in the mounting plate for my rear brake master cylinder so I could get a screw driver in there to mount it on the right hand side.
The original igniter wires were plenty long enough and there were no issues moving it to the original R/R location. When I get a chance, I'll try to put up some pictures.sigpic

Posplayer, the electrical tape is horrible, I know, and I would love to run across the stock fusebox cover, although I plan on switching to a Eastern Beaver blade fuse box in the future. The ignitor swapped no problem with the stock wires but I did have to drill a new hole in the backing plate. The stator runs straight to the 775 and I used spades and silicone rubber, not the plugs as the airbox is in the way. I did not want the wires hanging down. I connected the positive to the "T" in the interest of not overly modding the harness. The inline fuse you noticed is for the battery tender cord. There is also a 15 amp inline fuse from the 775 on the hot lead. Here is the SH775 mounted where the igniter used to be. If you look real close, you'll see where I drilled a hole in the rear brake master cylinder bracket so I can get a screw driver in to tighten the right mounting bolt.

Here is the igniter mounted where the original R/R used to be. I angled it so it would sit flatter against the mounting plate.

Although I didn't get any photos, I wanted to pass along that I just mounted my SH775 in the exact same location on my 1980 GS750E. I used the Triumph wire harness kit, and elongated one of the mounting holes on the R/R to fit the factory mounting holes on the battery box. The ignition box was moved to the other side as shown. This works great on the 1980 model as well.
