I never thought of it as an issue. I just thought it was part of his dumbass modding.

Soooo, you're not going to like this but I'm pretty sure it's just a boot between the carb and the engine. Like....slips on and is tightened with a band-clamp. I don't think there is anything that can take an o-ring. Seem like that could be a big issue? lol

The more detailed info we have the better.Originally posted by mrbill5491 View PostThere are no orings associated with those intake boots. When the clamps get old they lose their ability to tight down properly. If the boots are hard and cracked, new boots and new OEM clamps. How are you supporting the rear of the carbs?
So where do the intake o-rings go?! Or are they not used for this bike? Should I change them to the type that uses o-rings?

You can not change to a type that does use o-rings.
It was suggested earlier that the clamps lose their ability to hold the boots. Actually, the clamps don't really lose anything, it's the boots that dry up, shrinking in the process. With the smaller (thinner sidewalls) boots, the clamps can't go tight enough, so get new intake boots to restore proper size and pliability.
