Regulator/rectifier
Hypothetically speaking... Could one use a honda regulator in a suzuki? Like what would happen if one was to put one from a 73 honda sl350 into an 81 suzuki gs750???Tags: None

Anyone know if a regulator from a gs550 would work for a gs 750? Or where i could find the output stats to compare the two?

Depends on the age - the pre-79 550s likely used the two-part reg/rec and a 12-pole stator of lower output than your 81, but it's not an enormous difference, so it would probably work ok. If you can find a later one-piece, all the better.
Also; a Superdream reg/rec it will work fine - I used one for years, as did many others.---- Dave

Why not just spend the hundred bux for a new one from rick's motorsports or electrosport? Seems to me the wisest choice

Don't mess around with 40 yearold r/r design -get a series unit SH-775 from polaris (their pn#4012941) and enjoy happy motoring. Here's a link to a guy in your state, where I got mine two years ago
Enter 4012941 in that search box
probably $70 plus

One off of a Honda Gold wing 1000 or 1100 should work, or off of a CX500/CX650. I think those are the ones I am using. Better than Rick's or Electrosport.
Buy one from this guy:http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...vailable-again
I bought seven, then started finding them myself. They work great, and they are inexpensive.Last edited by 850 Combat; 06-06-2015, 09:38 PM.sigpic Too old, too many bikes, too many cars, too many things
