    I need new coils. Dyna 2.2 3.0 or 5.0 ohm's With Dyna 2000.

I need new coils and I need to figure out if I should stick with the - DC4-1 Dyna 2.2/14000ohms or switch them for some - DC1-1 3.0-14000ohms.
It really ****es me off, those coils are 3 yrs.
    I have the Dyna 2000.

From what I have read on other threads, the 2.2 ohms uses about 5.4 amps, 3.0 ohms about 4 amps and the 5ohm about 2.4 amps.

Or maybe I get the 2.2 ohm and at the end of the summer try and get the defective ones replaced using the new invoice.

I had a set of Dyna 3.0 green coils, fried both of them in not too many miles. Went back to stock coils. I have been told, unverified, that Dyna no longer recommends those coils for street use. I sure as hell won't.

Should I get the DC8-1 5ohm? Will they work with my Dyna 2000?

I researched some more and you can use the 3.0 but they run very hot. So being stuck in traffic or living in Arizona will kill them fast.
This probably means that the 2.2 ohm run even hotter then the 3.0. I rarely do traffic maybe that is why they lasted 3 yrs.

I now have to figure out if the Dyna 2000 will work with the Dyna 5.0 ohm coils. I have not found documentation yet.
I''ll be sending an email to Dyna.

          From the Dynatek website...

What coil should I use with the Dyna 2000?

For all dual fire and single fire applications, you must use coils that have a primary resistance of 2.5 to 3.5 ohms.

The Dyna site is not user friendly.
"What coil should I use with the Dyna 2000?" answer is in the Harley-Davidson section.
Ex: They kit the Dyna 2000 with 2.2 coils for the GS1100E.
I just sent them an email.

Got my new 2.2ohm coils installed and she runs Perfectly.

If I was to start over I would get a 5.5ohm kit for durability and longevity especial for the stator and r/r.

I was told by Dyna that you can you 5.5 ohm coils but only in an emergency.
