    New rectifier/regulator

So I replaced my regulator rectifier on my 81 gs450t after I tested it and one of the diodes was bad, the old regulator has 5 wires: yellow, red, white/blue, white/red, and a black wire. The new one also has 5 wires. Red, yellow, yellow, yellow, and green. It's obvious the red wires are positive current and the black/green are grounds. Then I connected the remaining 3 wires with how the ones on the old one were from right to left. My bike is having starting problems, but with the bike off the battery reads 12.98v which seems good. But as I turn on the key, it jumps down to 11.98 and keeps dropping. The wire cluster coming from the stator has 3 yellow wires just like the new regulator but if I connected all the yellows, it would be different from how the old one was and would leave some connections un connected. I'm tired of push starting my bike so I need some help please.

I don't know what "keeps dropping means"? 0.1V per second? How low does it go in 10 seconds. You have to stay about 12V to have a well charged health battery. There is a slippery slope below 11.8V.

With a five wire R/R all that needs to be hooked up are the three yellow stator wires directly to your stator in any order (to whatever color code comes from the stator) and the grounds and power wire. If there are wires left over, they are not necessary to hook up. Originally one of the stator legs was routed through the light switch and back to the R/R. That is not necessary or desirable.

        yep
3 yellow wires directly to stator.
Leftover two wires from bike harness can be abandoned, (as others have said).

All the while since the cashrging system was not working, have you had the bsttery on a charger?

Maybe bsattery is not well charged yet.
Or maybe battery is marginal, and that is why you see the voltage drop when put on as load.

Do describe more of what load you put on the bsttery (headlight?) and how fast it dropps (how many volts in, say, 10 and 30 seconds).
