How to convert a GS400 to electronic ignition?

Has anyone done this? I was wondering specifically if the pick up coils from any old GS (750, 850, 1000 etc.) Will work on this 2 cylinder gs400? Or is the best option to use the 450 pick up coils..

And also I know an ignitor box will be needed, will I have to solder that into my harness or will the Suzuki ignitor box plug right in?

    Thanks in advance

A better solution is simply to use a Dyna S. You need to mount the S pickups on the OE points backing plate which isn't hard if you have the right taps for the mounting screws. then just use the stock coils. I don't think Dyna do a backplate of the right diameter.
Later manufactured electronics - and no ignitor box. Much simpler....

Wow its all self contained within the pick ups? Darn u would think though for spending the fortune (what I wanted to avoid) you wouldn't have to do any drilling. So u mean basically to mount the plate precisely in the right position right? I'm assuming there's marks?

Does it matter if the pick ups are for a 4 cyl model or does it have to be exact for a 2 cyl

The pickups are exactly the same whether for a 4 cyl or a twin. The points backplate is brass and can be drilled and tapped for mounting the pickups quite easily. The Dyna backplates are aluminium and could I suppose be machined down to the diameter required to fit the recess for mounting in the twin sidecover. You'd then have to slot it for the screws holding the backplate to the sidecover.
i had a buyer for my 450 racebike and no functioning ignition so simply grabbed a Dyna S originally for a Z1 which was sitting here and remounted the pickups in a hurry. Works fine.
You can use the standard timing marks with the S as you simply substitute the Dyna rotor for the points cam on the original carrier.
