Hi. On the 1 valve I found that spark plug is black. I did carb rebuild and vacuum sync is done.I use every time torque wrench. What it can be?

Were these fresh plugs installed after the carb work?

Looks like it is running rich, but we will need to know what bike it is before offering suggestions, as the adjustments are different, depending on the carbs.

Nice to see your location in your profile, now please take a moment or two to add a signature that mentions your bike. It might prevent times like this.

Well if its not smoking its probably a rich carb setting. Does the engine produce good power?

about power --- it's my first bike for me is powerful enough. I wish to try another gs650 .at 4000 rpm it go 83-85 km/h at 5000 rpm 105 - 110 km/h . and it's not smooking only at cold start half minute. I did adjust idle rpm screw with "Steve method" carbtune connected and I screwed in to moment when vacuum start dropping. I am using D8EA X24ES - U.

I'd venture to guess from the pics that since 1 and 3 both look a little rich, that you might have the floats set a little high or the float needles are leaking a little. Since the bike leans to that side, those would be the most likely to get a little fuel in the cylinders when its parked on the side stand.

Do those plugs even fit? I thought all GS's use B series plugs from NGK. The first letter tells you the plug's thread size.

I have a 550 head on the bench at the moment, which will need 14mm plugs - eg B6ES. But the 650 head next to it takes 12mm (D***) plugs. Can't tell you why.....

I would be inclined to clean the No 1 plug, swap over 1 & 4 HT leads and see if the sootiness moves. It could be a bad lead or plug cap.
Just having a closer look at that plug it could be oil from a stem seal which would be consistent with a bit of smoke on a cold start.

The plug size changed at the same time as the newer head design which the 650 has, might have something to do with that.

I change plug caps same time as carb rebuild. Also I measured resistance is 21kOhm. (In service book is 35kOhm but somebody said is alright. ...). I have original coils ---- HT cords is welded direct to coil. ......
Also I never park on side longer than 10 minutes. Only center stand.

I would still swap them over just to eliminate it and it's easy to do.

I should said that I drove with this plugs 100 km.
And Sorry I don't understand. U mean swap 4 to 1 end of the cord --- so other end of cord (that which is attached to coil) stay on same place??
