If it were real, then the part number wouldn't be just SH775. It would have a BA or BB after that.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

Interesting.
When I was sold the bike I was told it didnt charge the battery because of the RR being bad. It was an OEM RR from what I could tell. At least it looked old as the hills. However the cover on the Stator appears to have been removed at one point or another because the screws have just the tinsiest bit of stripping. Nothing to cause any problems unscrewing them, but certainly noticeable.
So, I since replaced the RR. It has a sticker on the side that says "RR2"...Not sure what that even means. It was cheap off ebay...
Could the bad RR have immediately burned up the stator?
In my previous go through of the electrical system, I noticed that one of the stator wires was plugged into something other than the RR...I still haven't figure out what that was. I guess it could be the reason only a few of the cells are burned up?
Also fyi the battery is new and I regrounded everything and sanded all contact points on the entire system.

By the way the stator is from a company called "Caltric" out of California.
I went ahead and ordered a used one from Cannibal Cycle which appeared in good condition. Almost like new.
Caltric verified that they indeed messed up and are sending another replacement. I figure between the two I'll get the right one and have another on hand for...idk...maybe selling or using if the new stator is bunk from one or the other.

Ran into some delays (girlfriend related XD) on testing the charging system but will test tonight when I get home from work. I received my new stator today. Looks exactly the same as the presumed bad one, however with one difference.
It has three wires coming out (normal) and two of the female connections are the right ones to fit the RR male bullet style wires. The third however, appears to accommodate two male connections. I'm incredibly confused. Will it matter if nothing is plugged into the other side of the third connection? Can post picture later for clarification.
I've hear something about some stators having a 4th series for some non-vital purpose. Could this be what this is?

I also cut those connectors off and solder the wires directly to whatever you have coming from the R/R.
