looking for 83 gs850 bobber push button wiring help

So i just got my 83 GS850 in December and their was a problem with the wiring which wouldnt let me shut the bike off when i turned the key or took it completely out. I disconnected all the wires from the installed push button and ignition switch. this is a boober style bike so the wiring seems pretty simple but just not to me. I have some general photos of what i have installed on the bike and i will take actual photos once i get home after work.

The previous owner only has a installed push button that has 2 prongs on the back and a ignition cylinder that has 3 poisons in it and 2 prongs on the back. i will post up the wire pictures later. I have

same type of switch i have

That will nicely activate starter solenoid - if you can follow the wiring layout!
The 2 prong key switch will power the ignition coils and ignitor - in "off" spot, ignition is killed.
Did you get the stock wiring diagram from Basscliff's ?

If it's not stock, you'll likely need to trace the wiring to sew what he did. If you're lucky, the new switches are connected to the stock wires.

that is the diagram using. I just connected everything up and now I am getting a clicking sound when I push my start button. The starter and everything worked fine a couple weeks ago and the batter has been disconnected. I will check for spark later and then if that works I'll try to figure out a way to jump the starter

So just tried jumping my bike and it tried to turn over so the battery was dead. I will get it tested this week and then try to test out my wiring

What did PO leave you for fuse setup in this minimalist wiring scheme?
And be sure to test charging stuff once it's running again. Do a simple Quick Test for preview..

i only have 1 (15amp) fuse between the ignition switch and the battery. I am making a wiring diagram of what i have and i will post it today or tomorrow.

That's how the early bikes are wired. Doesn't mean it's good though. The downside is that if one thing blows the fuse, the whole bike stops working.

ha yea that's why I want to ask yall. Where should I have fuses between? I just got this bike and want to fix it up and make it so it doesn't catch fire

yea I'm new to the whole wiring part, but I do understand electronics and stuff so I'm all ears if you can tell me where I should put some fuses. I will post a simple picture tomorrow morning of the wiring on the bike as of now. So feel free to take that and draw where I should do fuses

This is a simple diagram of the wiring of my ignition system right now? if anyone can put their own input on where i should add some inline fuses or any changes that i should try.
