    1982 GS650G out of starage

    Hey everyone,
Have not been on for a while but we just got some nice weather here in Green Bay WI and decided to fire my bike up after almost 5 months of storage and work I did on it over the winter. Went through just about every thing front to back except the engine. Went really well thanks to all the help from all you GS lovers. I have a question about my charging system. Have a new battery, cleaned the harness, did some rewiring, added a SPG, grounded every thing the best I could. Started the bike today and preformed the quick test and tested the stator which checked out fine, but my voltages are 14.0 at idle 13.8 at 2500 rpm 14.2 at 5000 rpm. RR is still the factory one. I was wondering if I should change the RR to a sh775 just to be safe.

    Thanks again M.K.

Don't wonder, get a SH-775 and enjoy stator happiness

Consider mounting an onboard voltage meter to keep you informed .

GS650G in Green Bay?! Same here I have a SH-775 on my bike as well, along with a voltage indicator light from Ebay (from the UK) that indicates charging status.
