1979 GS750 contact point assembly screw size?

Hello, friends. I have a tune up kit I'm ready to install but recently moved and can't find the only box I REALLY wanted to make sure made it. It contained all the old points and hardware. I looked on a couple different microfiche and the only description of what I need says only SCREW 09125-04001. I like to replace the wretched slotted screws of yore with newer more torque effective screws as I go through.

In summary, if anyone knows the actual size of these little guys I'd appreciate the help! I've searched this fine site and tried a few different goggle searches and no luck. So thanks for reading and cheers to the GSResources!

The "04" in the latter half of the part number means the threads are 4mm diameter.

Thread length is most likely 10mm, although this isn't embedded in the part number like the other screws. (For example, the shorter screws are 02112-0406B, meaning 4mm diameter X 6mm length.)

Maybe you know this, maybe you don't, but screws and bolts are normally specified based on the thread diameter, pitch, and length, not including the head of the fastener.

You could just grab some 4mm screws in 6mm, 8mm and 10mm length. For screws 8mm and smaller, you don't need to worry about different thread pitches (standard .70mm pitch is fine).

A little off topic but why don't you get a Dyna S ignition for it. Do away with the igniter box and points.Very easy to install.

Yea the Dyna S ignition was 139.00 2 years ago. When my igniter box went bad the priced "used" online was 450.00 and only found 1 for my '78 Dyna S is very reliable and simple.
