I just finished rewiring my T with a M-Unit and Mbutton. Its a killer system, but, now it is not starting, it is backfiring both ways, into the airbox, and out of the exhaust. The only thing that has changed is the wiring. It ran previously, but the starter button circuit had some issues, it kept blowing the fuse after running for a minute,so I shelled out and rewired the whole bike. I have been searching threads, and have a few clues, but seem to have a unique situation. (Don't we all...)
Some details:
Doesn't have stock pipes, but it ran ok with these pipes previously.
As I mentioned i seem to have good spark. I cleaned the plugs and gave it clean fuel.
Charged the battery.
Drained the bowls but haven't cleaned the carb yet. However, that was done fairly recently.
I haven't double checked the advance....
I know this could be Fuel/Air, valve timing, or electrical.
I feel like I have the wiring right, my only concern is the 12volt to the CDI and the coils. Basically I have a 3 way connection from aux on the m-unit, two legs run to the orange/whites for the coils and one runs to 'the cdi orange and white. As I mentioned I have spark, I just dont know if it is right.
I guess I wouldnt be so confused if I didnt have spark, or if it hadn't roared to a start just a few months ago before the rewire. I was pretty confident that it was gonna run.
UGGGG!
Any help would be appreciated, especially if someone could send a pic or drawing of how 12volt should run to the cdi and coils, assuming i dont have a kill switch (which with the m-unit I don't).
Thanks,
Chris
