Wiring harness questions...
So real quick question, I'm building a GS850L for my brother and the donor bike has a melted harness and I'm trying to make one work. I have complete GS harnesses but it's missing plugs for the headlight harnesses. Anyways in the pile of **** I purchased there are several partial L harnesses I need to know where this bleeping plug goes though, I'm sure this will be the first of many questions

Can't tell for sure but that large connector looks to have colors similar to those joining to the fuse box.Ed
To measure is to know.

This wiring diagram shows it is schematic. If you back up to the site it has a manual which will show the physical location of the control unit. They were located near the battery box and the plug would be somewhere around the top of the airbox. http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/97 R1100R

I've circled the igniter - there's 6 wires.
I guess the plug/s should come out near where the igniter sits on the bike?Current:
Z1300A5 Locomotive (swapped my Intruder for it), GS450 Cafe Project (might never finish it....), XT500 Commuter (I know - it's a Yamaha )
Past:
VL1500 Intruder (swapped for Z1300), ZX9R Streetfighter (lets face it - too fast....), 1984 GSX750EF, 1984 GSX1100EF (AKA GS1150)
And a bunch of other crap Yamahas....

Thanks for all the help, I'm down to the last bit of wiring need some more help where these go or at least conformation that's my wiring diagram reading is correct
This plug goes to the ignition box, I read the blue and green go to the signal generator, where do the other two wires go?
Then I have this plug I don't see any mention of in the wiring diagram any ideas?
this blue wire goes to??!
out of the gear indicator switch I have this blue wire, but the main harness only had these and where does the green/red and blue wire go?
once again I think I have this about beat but just trying to finish up the rest of the little stuff

Blue and Green are the stock signal generator wires. the Black and Yellow look unfamiliar as does the black connector block. My guess is that the ignition system has been replaced.
The plug with the G/W and Bk/W is about the right size for a coil supply but the colours are wrong. Bk/W is generally the earth for lights, indicator lamps and turn signals. Maybe someone got creative. Could it be a replacement rear brake switch ? The only G/W wire on the bike is the stator loop that goes up to the front.
For some reason the neutral light wire, the Blue one, runs separately from the other gear position wires. It would have a bullet connector to the main harness just above the airbox where there should also be a plug for the other five wires in the gear position switch tail. Yours like mine looks to have had the plug hacked off. Maybe breakers can't be bothered to lift the tank.97 R1100R

Power comes from the reg/rec and splits between battery and main fuse (red wire) which goes to the battery and main fuse box. Goes through 15A fuse to ignition switch and comes back to fuse box as orange wire. The orange wire feeds 3 circuits; one is the orange/green. This wire is used to feed the turn signal control relay and turn signal control unit. It has nothing to do with the ignition. The igniter and coils are fed through a orange/white wire going through the kill switch.

I got the coils wired up, I don't think this is the stock wiring/ignition box for this year harness, but I had to make do with the parts I had. I have the orange/white to the coils, but these last few wires need buttoned up in order for me to feel comfortable hooking up a battery and trying the lights and stuff
