The plug with the G/W and Bk/W is about the right size for a coil supply but the colours are wrong. Bk/W is generally the earth for lights, indicator lamps and turn signals. Maybe someone got creative. Could it be a replacement rear brake switch ? The only G/W wire on the bike is the stator loop that goes up to the front.
For some reason the neutral light wire, the Blue one, runs separately from the other gear position wires. It would have a bullet connector to the main harness just above the airbox where there should also be a plug for the other five wires in the gear position switch tail. Yours like mine looks to have had the plug hacked off. Maybe breakers can't be bothered to lift the tank.
The previous gear shifter indicator harness was burned in a carb fire, the plug was butchered,
so that blue wire runs to the neutral wire-Check
The yellow and Black are still in question-
The coil wires according to the diagram are orange and white. which is how I wired them up,
The G/W b/W plug is still in question,

The green w/white tracer and black w/white tracer are for the oil pressure switch under the carb assy.

So looking at this and I googled the part number for the igniter box, I have a 1983 ignition so I included a photo of the diagram from bass cliffs website the generator only has two wires on the motor and this igniter calls for 4 so where can I stick the other ones??

                Well it's in the 1982 1100gkz diagram
on basscliffa website for some reason that photo didn't work well

OK, that ignitor has a four wire input from the pickup and the other two are black and yellow. The plug in your hand, is that the tail from the ignitor or the harness connector. Could be the black and yellow are redundant if your 'points'/signal generator/coil pick up is two wire.
We are still talking an 850 with 83 ignition ? What year is the 850 ?
From that diagram a black/white and green/white plug could be for the kickstand switch.
Quite a mongrel you got going there.

Yes it's an 850 with an 83 harness on an 81 bike with an 82 motor, that harness is from the ignition box not the harness

That ignitor plug is expecting four wires back from the pick up. Open the 'points' cover and see what is going on down there.

It's a two wire igniter, so now I guess what are my
                        options?

I found a different ignition box with two wires, problems fixed. now I have problems with the dash lights not lighting up.....

                            Follow the Yellow Brick Road..............
First guess is this is a supply side issue.
The turn signals, brake light switches, horns, oil pressure and neutral dash lights and fuel gauge are fed from the orange/green supply from the fusebox. The fusebox itself is often a problem with bad connections at the back. The plug on the fusebox tail is another suspect. As the orange/green wire heads off into the harness there are usually a number of tee connections where it splits off to the rear brake switch and turn signal relay that could have corroded.
Or is the backlighting the problem ?

sorry I wasn't specific its the backlighting, I have a oil switch, blue dimmer light also gear indicator lights 1-5. I have turn signals all the way around and the rear running light, I do not have a brake light but I haven't looked into that problem yet. I have checked and repaired all the junctions with new or cleaned pieces.
