    oil light reset?

81 gs850gl. The oil light on the bike is on when the bike is not running, just when the key is on. I dont have any leaks, oil is brand new and it is topped off to the correct amount. Is there a way to reset this?

As long as the light goes off when the bike is running you're good to go (there's no pressure when the bike is not running).

Is this not normal? Does it go out when the bike is running????? Isn't the light there to tell you that you have low oil pressure when it is running?????

When I die, just cremate me and put me in my GS tank. That way I can go through these carbs, one more time!https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/core/images/smilies/cool.png

If you have a car, watch carefully when you turn the key ON, but don't start the engine. The oil light acts the same way.
