I recently got the hardware for the headlight adjuster on my GS750 and went for a ride at night so I could set the adjustment where I wanted it. As it turns out the headlight is mounted upside down. High beam shines closer to the bike and normal lights shine further out. Taking a closer look I should have realized the brand on the bulb is upside down as well. So I took it apart to flip it the right way and the tabs on the sealed beam headlight only fit into the housing one way, which is upside down. Is it possible that the headlight bucket is mounted upside down? I have 2 screws at 11 and 1 O'clock and one at 6. Is this correct?

Holes that hold the bulb in are always at the bottom IF it requires just 2 screws. The 3 holed ones will have the big holes in the back for the harness wires to pass through at the bottom of the bucket. All buckets should have little tabs molded in at the top rim for the beauty ring to clip onto also.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

A lot of strange stuff can happen to a GS in 30+ years. Installing a headlight bucket upside-down is pretty mild.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
