What plugs? To resistor or not to resistor...that is the question.

So I replaced both the coils with new Emgo 24-72451 and my old contact point ignition with a Dyna S. I recently dropped my bike off to a service center to have the carbs balanced and I noticed they swapped the plugs for the BR8ES NGK resistor type for the standard and factory B8ES. What gives? What actually goes on it now that the new coils and ignition have been installed. The coil info is below:

2.42 ohms resistance is too low. The Dyna S requires a minimum of 3 ohms. You may want to look for some ballast resistors to add into the system.

You want ONE resistance element in the system, either plug caps, wires, or plugs.

Read what Nessism said carefully. There are THREE areas where you can have resistance (which is needed for spark suppression in radios): the wires, the caps or the plugs. You only need ONE of those areas.

The BR8ES plugs can work, but you need to have solid wires and NON-resistor caps.
If you have suppressor wires, you want non resistor caps and non-resistor plugs.
If you have resistor caps, you need solid wires and non-resistor plugs.

As he also mentioned, you might need to add a ballast resistor on the PRIMARY SIDE. The Dyna ignition can only handle so much current, and needs coils with at least 3 ohms to control the current. Your coils have less resistance, so will allow too much current through, which can damage your Dyna system. Add a 1.0 or 1.5 ohm resistor inline with each coil, your Dyna will thank you.

I double checked my plug caps and the 5ohm resistor type. and the wires are solid type.
