1980 gs 850 gt
on my gs rebuild horn wouldnt work so like a numpty i took it to bits and the spring for the horn button popped out and after several hours searching its gone ive got a box off springs can anyone tell me what is the diameter off the spring and the lenght and is it a parralel spring or a cone shape any help appreciated .just another thought are theese springs still available if so has anyone a part no thanks AndyTags: None

Hey GPZ, it just so happens that I have a left control unit on hand completely disassembled. Another member was going to take it off my hands but as it turned out, he just needed a few pics of the internals. This is from an 81 850G.
The horn spring has a copper cup inside the plastic button. Do you still have that cup?

yes i still have the copper cup so theese measurements are great i have a big box off assorted springs so im sure i can make one up ,i was initialy looking to buy a used switch but money is a bit short at the moment so ill try the spring thanks for the replys

well it worked ive cut down a spring to the dimensions supplied but its so long since i took the switch to bits i found a round disc, very much like the copper one that goes under the horn push button but not sure where it goes anybody got any pics all help appreciated

The original one is cupped to fit into the end of the spring. It is the copper disc that actually touches the electrical contacts on the circuit board.

thanks very much for that i was strugling to get both in with the spring ,its working with the end off the spring touching the two contacts i may try to get both in later on thanks again
