R/R Fusebox Proximity

    R/R Fusebox Proximity

    The Shindengen is considerably more burley than the original R/R. It takes up a lot more space. Is it so close to the fusebox that heat from the R/R could damage the fusebox?

    Will it mount under the battery like on an 850?

      I'm hoping the current setup is okay before I start looking at other options.

        Are you putting it on the L? If so I've put one on each one of my L's and they've bolted up where the original came off.
        I put a bolt in one side loosely and slightly bent one tab out a smidgen and drew them tight. Worked like a charm.

          It should be no problem. I feel that they run a fair bit cooler than a stock R/R.

          It's not hard to move it under the battery. Easiest way is to remove the battery box. Of course, to do that, you have to remove the flasher and control unit that hang on the right side, then remove the ONE bolt that holds the solenoid plate to the battery box (might be behind the R/R in its current location), then lift the battery box out. Mount the new R/R so the terminals face the left side of the bike.

            The fusebox will get hot if it is dirty. Other than that it is not likely either (fuse box or SH775) will get hot.

              Thanks for all the replies. I have cleaned the fusebox and will give it a try like it is after I put in the stator today. This is on the G.
