Mystery wire?? Where does it go?
OK, the person that dis-assembled the bike, me, did not label this wire and now has no idea where it goes. It's off of a 1978 GS750E. It's 11" long from eye to eye. Anyone know where it goes?

Not sure exactly, but that is a ground. You should have a battery to frame ground and an engine to frame ground. If you're missing either of those, then that would be my choice.:cool:GSRick

It's definitely a ground. I just posted almost an identical question with nearly identical wire in mind.
My wire is B/W with a bullet connector in the middle and two ring terminals on either end. I know I have an engine to battery ground, and an engine to fuse ground. I don't think I have an engine to frame ground.
As for solid black wires with two ring terminals, the only ones I found today were turn signal wires. Let us know if you find the missing spot. :-)

I think I found it! looks to be a ground that goes from the negative battery terminal to the center rectifier ground ???Ron

I believe it goes from the center ground bolt on the rectifier to the negative battery terminal.Ron

So it's THE ground for the RR? I thought that was hardwired. Guess I've never looked that closely.
