Stator swap 12 pole vs 18
My stock 1977 Stator went(12 pole). So I ordered a new one off ebay Installed and it's not charging. Didn't realize there were two types 12 pole and 18. I installed a 18 pole. Whats the difference? Where can I get a 12 pole? Only used ones on ebay
Thanks guysTags: None

YIKES!! It's no wonder it wasn't charging.
There was another member who needed one during this past week and found one. A search might find his posts to see where he ordered one.

As with most things, there is "Good", "Better" and "Best". The one you show is in the "Good" category. Yes, it will charge the battery and run the bike, but tends to stress the stator. Much better (actually into the "Best" category) is a unit from a Polaris RAZR utility vehicle. Prices for new ones have skyrocketed lately, but good used ones are in the $40-45 range from eBay. You have to shop carefully, as there are many sellers that say that their 'new' R/R will "fit Polaris RAZR" or "replaces stock regulator" or similar wording, but it's not an official Polaris part.
If you are interested, we can provide some links to proper unit.

I have a 12 pole stator I bought off eBay! I will sell it to you but something tells me it won't be worth it to pay the shipping - I'm from Canada
