GS550 vs GS550L pickup coil
Hello i am trying to get my bike running, the GS550L bastard child im looking at the after market ignition systems but they are all made for the larger set of pickup coils with 3 screws, mine is smaller with 2 screws. Whats is the size difference of the mount plate? What about a GS450 pickup coils they use 2 screws? Any help will be appreciated thanksTags: None

Sorry i cant seem to figure how to upload pictures on my phone. Im trying swap out my ignition for an aftermarket but nobody seems to make one for the 16 valve GS550L, the 8valve uses pickup coils with a larger mounting plate with 3 mount screws, i just dont know how much larger it is, has anybody fit a boyer ignition?

Ahhh, now we have the next clue.
We now know we are looking for a 16-valve item.
Now for the next question: What year?
We do know quite a bit about these bikes, but we are not there, looking over your shoulder, so you will have to tell us what you have.
The GS550 line had three basic generations between '76 and '85, not all parts were interchangeable, so we need some clues.
And, you can not post pictures from your phone. You can't really post pictures from a real computer, either.
Your best bet is to host your pictures someplace like Photobucket or Imgur and post the IMG links to the picture.
