    GS1150 starter problem

    Hello

I picked up a slightly beat up 1150EF whose engine I'm planning to use for a swap.

I'm trying to get it running and be able to test it to make sure its all good before taking it out.

I bought it as a non runner.

Seller said the starting system wasnt working anymore.

I took out the starter motor, it starts well out of the bike.

Charged up the battery from my 1100, and put it all back together.

Upon pushing the starter button, the motor just churns over slowly, like its got no amps.

Any advice on what to check ?

    Thanks

Turn engine over by hand. Remove r/h timing cover, use wrench.

Make sure engine turns freely first.
1978 Gs1085 compliments of Popy Yosh, Bandit 1200 wheels and front end, VM33 Smoothbores, Yosh exhaust, braced frame, ported polished head
1983 Gs1100ESD, rebuild finished! Body paintwork happening winter 2017:D

I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things.

Pulling the plugs helps reduce the load a lot.

Yup, my bad. Sometimes I assume people know the basics

Make sure you use the 17mm and not the 12mm......
