A much better diagram is the 850 diagram that is about four above that one.
The 850G and 1000G were virtually the same. I think the 1000 had running lights in the front one year sooner than the 850, and maybe another similar item, but I use that 850 diagram the most, as it is the easiest one to use. If you get into the 16-valve bikes that had computerised dash panels, it's not as good in the instrumentation area, and the '82 and newer bikes had switches for side stand lights, but it's easy to mentally adjust for those.
