Is the 80-81 Ignitor interchangeable with the 82-83 one on a GS1100e other than the size difference? Pulling the Frankenbike out of mothballs and had no spark. Plugged in a spare 81 Ignitor and it fired right up. IIRC both still had mechanical advance. I don't want to spend much as this is headed down the road shortly at a 3-digit price.

If both bikes have a mechanical advance and you can successfully mount the ignitor, it should work.
