My stator has bit the dust and I'm waiting for parts to come in to replace it. I caught it before complete failure but I figure while I'm at it I might as well upgrade the R/R as well to something a little better for longevity. Does anyone make a complete kit with wiring harness and all included to basically "Drop in" somelthing like the SH775?Tags: None

Yup. Nobody offers a "kit", you will have to get both items yourself. In fact, the Triumph harness is optional. It's nice for keeping the terminals a bit more protected from the weather, but it also adds a bit to the bulk of the new R/R.

$13-15 from RM Stator listed for many different models of Shindengen and bike models, Chinese-direct versions are $10 (no silicone dielectric grease included, but is included with the RMStator connector kits on ebay)
The Triumph version is $26 with the wires connected but they look like 2 of the wires are a bit short for how I wire them. Also I prefer to take the stator wires direct, unspliced, into the connector kit plug. I will always be running a Shindengen unit no matter what GS it's in, may as well make the connector permanent! You can depress the tabs and release the pins from the connector if you need to pull the stator through the case.
Look for a good $45 used polaris # 4012941
You can get a Shindengen Mosfet r-r kit for $120 on ebay, but beware there are many Chinese look-a-likes to these Shindengen units, the cases look IDENTICAL, so I'm leery of buying a new one off Ebay that is too good of a deal to be true... used OEM is better than Chinese Mosfet clones in my book.
I always, always, always solder all of my crimped wiring terminal connections now, I would not ever do anything other than that for anything important. Get a decent soldering iron and some wiring solder, and a decent pair of crimper pliers. Buy a variety pack of heat shrink tubing at AutoZone. Solder everything. It's the best way. Heat shrink it, wrap with electrical tape, seal it up good.
It would be a good idea to put in a fuse box or two or three inline fuse holders as well, while you are rewiring things, and do the single point ground modification. Find some posts by Jim AKA posplayr, look at his signature file for the thread link titled GS charging system health. Click. Read. Single point ground, and diagram for "popular rewiring for GS's."

Thanks for the replies folks. I've already got a fuse block wired in and a ground bus bar with grounds going to engine and frame. I'll look for that used Polaris part.
I'm wanting to delete the "stator loop" while I'm in there pretty sure it's the green white wire on my bike.

I got the Triumph harness from Motorcycles of Dulles for $9.65 + shipping. It's under $20 with shipping. I was heading to pick it up and my bike died on the side of the road. I called them and they mailed it to me without adding shipping cost. Great business!
I found a used SH775 on Ebay for $37. I'm currently running my SH775 with spade connectors plugged into the R/R. I need to wire in that harness.
Edit: Also look for Seadoo #710001103. It's a SH775AA instead of the Polaris which is labelled as a SH775BA. From my research, the Polaris is always labelled BA and the Seadoo is always a AA. I think they are identical otherwise.Last edited by hannibal; 03-21-2018, 11:07 AM.Jordan
