    82 GS1100L ELECTRICAL problem

    Good day - Chasing a electrical problem - Can anyone tell me if there is a common power source for turn signals, brake light, side stand indicator - neutral / gear indicator and horn - All have stopped at once - Thank you for your time

    Check all the fuses?
    78 Gs 1000, 94 Honda Xr600

      Basscliff's site still has nice readable color wiring diagram- print out some copies

        And the 1100 service manual will have a wire diagram

        I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

          Well, the fuses are Head light, Signal, Ignition and Main (in that order) and I don’t know if an L has a 5th one but if it does that is for the aux power terminal on bottom of fuse block.

          the items you mention sound like the signal fuse. The orange/green circuit. Check that circuit comming out of the fuse block. Check it with a volt meter.

            Yes, be sure to check it with a volt meter or a test light.

            It is possible for a glass fuse to fail behind the metal cap, where you can't see it.

              Thank you everyone for all the help. The problem was the orange/green wire coming out top of fuse block - Was a bad connection after 36 years Thank you all again ----- Ron

                Hey, Ron. Good to hear of your success, and good that you found the source of the problem and was able to resolve the problem. Sometime such a problem is internal to the fuse block and is no good resolution.
